To the database

The seal database is a research project of the Research Institute of the Teutonic Order, affiliated with the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. The research project has been working on a digital documentation of seals of the Teutonic Order since 2022.

The Research Institute of the Teutonic Order was officially inaugurated in July 2014. Its central function is to research the diverse history of the Order from 1190 to the present day.
